Auditions

Auditions are scheduled by the music director.       The music director will be happy to hear interested singers at any time.      Please contact her at 704-545-1202. During the audition, you will sing vocal exercises to determine vocal range, timbre, volume, and intonation.     Sight-reading and pitch memory will also be assessed.      Prepared pieces are welcomed but not mandatory; an accompanist will be provided. Nova Voce is currently seeking singers with second alto and second soprano voices. Auditions for the December 11 and 12, 2010 Christmas concert should be scheduled with the music director by appointment in August 2010.

Singers must be able to commit to weekly Tuesday evening rehearsals from 7-9 PM, dress rehearsals the nights before the scheduled performances, and the 2 concert dates in May and December.       Singers pay dues of $55.00 per season to cover expense of sheet music which the singer retains. Financial assistance is available for dues. Rehearsals resume  September 7, 2010 at Myers Park United Methodist Church.
